I have been modeling for art classes for several years. I have written a book called The Art Model’s Handbook which explains why art students draw naked people, the significance of nude figures in artwork, how to choose interesting poses, the structure of a figure drawing class, standard policies and protocols, etc.

I think this would be a helpful resource for anyone interested in posing nude for an art class, especially if they have never attended such a class as an art student.

I used to pose for classes. It was an interesting experience.

i have posed naked for art classes in 8 different institutions with over 100 instructors; i am an older male, an exhibitionist and convinced it is all about sex.

I have pose nude for art classes. It is not about sex.I did it so that artist can hone their skills to draw the nude form.I enjoyed it very much and am looking to do more of it

and why would artists want to draw the naked human form, phillip?
and a male artist drawing a naked female is not in any way, shape or form letting his thoughts wander while looking at those breasts and buttocks?
oh, i get it, “the artist as saint”
what a novel concept.

Why such ignorance, edo? Are you saying there is not a modern or historical depiction of the naked female form that wasn’t about the sexual gratification of the viewer or artist? I suppose all humans are born clothed as well.

So do tell me what happens in these art classes…lecherous students and professors coerce shy female students (or maybe their heinous sluts) into posing naked under the guise of honing their skills? How deviant. What wolves.

Seems like a long way to go for a rodeo, buddy.

“the artist as saint”

No one said this, except for you. I’m guessing a day out at the beach isn’t about swimming and fun but “all about sex”, right?

Ah, the critic as saint.

Posing nude for an art class is on my bucket list, but I am unsure of how to go about it. What do you say in an email inquiring about modeling opportunities, especially if one has no experience?

I am currently posing as a nude art model for a local Art College and enjoy it quite a bit. It is not an erotic setting / enviroment however I am 37 and in pretty good shape and somewhat of a voyeur myself. In posing for approximately 12 sessions already there has never been an awkward or inappropriate moment. I’ve neither hit on a student nro been hit on by one. Not that should the opportunity arise I would shy away from it. TO be attracted to the opposite sex is God ordained and normal. Pornography is a whole different matter entirely…
